Coaches Corner: Myron Jefferson

He's a decorated athlete and coach, a sports renaissance man, and we're so happy to have him out west as one of our veteran Senior Sales Representative. Meet Myron Jefferson:

What sports do you coach?
I coached youth sports, including football, basketball, baseball and Track & Field, for 33 years before retiring in January 2018. One of my former leagues, the Cougar Youth Sports Association, are 3 x National Youth Football Champions and 8 x Colorado AAU State Champions.

What types of things did you fundraise for?
Mainly travel and uniforms.

What sports did you play? Any accomplishments?
All-State Football & Track - Denver South High School (1981-1984), 5 x NAIA Track & Field All-American University of Southern Colorado - Pueblo (1985-1989), MLFS National Champions Semi-Pro Football Pueblo Crusaders (1987-1990), NFL New York Jets Free Agent Camp (1991), Arena Football League Firebirds (1991-1994), American Football Association Hall of Fame (Class of 2001)

Why do you think DDF is a good fundraising choice for youth sports teams?
It's very easy to sell and there is no distribution! And you don't have to deal with returns and exchanges.

What fundraising advice can you give other coaches?
Fundraising is a must, especially if you're a travel or competitive team, to help ease the cost for your parents and to afford more opportunities for your team. So my best piece of advice is to find a team mom or dad who's a real go-getter to oversee your fundraising efforts.
