Trick-or-Treat Safety Tips
Trick-or-Treat night is one of the most fun nights of the fall. Follow these easy tips to keep your little ghosts and goblins safe on Halloween night!
Tip 1: Swords, wands and pointed costume accessories should be kept short and soft to avoid injury.
Tip 2: Hem or pin up long costumes, so they aren’t a tripping hazard.
Tip 3: Use non-toxic makeup instead of a mask so child’s vision is not limited.
Tip 4: Parents should check candy and allow kids to eat only factory wrapped treats.
Tip 5: Buddy up! Kids should trick-or-treat with parents or friends, never alone. Only approach well-lit homes in familiar neighborhoods.
Tip 6: Add reflective strips to costumes and use flashlights or glow sticks, so a child can be easily seen in the dark.
